Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson, Major General Igor Konashenkov

▪️During special military operation, classified documents (https://function.mil.ru/files/morf/dokumentynua.pdf)of the command of the National Guard of Ukraine ended up in the hands of the Russian servicemen. These documents confirm the covert preparation by the Kiev regime of an offensive operation in the Donbass in March 2022.

▪️The Russian Ministry of Defence publishes the original secret order of the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel-General Nikolai Balan, dated January 22, 2022.

▪️Order “On organizing the training of a battalion tactical group of the 4th operational brigade to perform combat (special) tasks in the joint forces operation as part of a brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine.”

The document is addressed to the heads of the northern Kiev, southern Odessa and western territorial departments of the National Guard of Ukraine.

▪️The order, brought to the command of the National Guard of Ukraine, explains the plan for preparing one of the shock groups for offensive operations in the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” zone in Donbass.
The document approves the organizational structure of the battalion-tactical group of the 4th operational brigade of the National Guard, the organization of its comprehensive support and reassignment to the 80th separate air assault brigade of Ukraine.

▪️I would like to emphasize that since 2016, this formation of the air assault troops of Ukraine has been trained by American and British instructors under the “NATO standard” training programs in Lvov.

▪️In accordance with the order, the Deputy Commander of the National Guard was tasked with organizing joint combat training of the battalion-tactical group of the National Guard as part of the 80th separate air assault brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine from February 7 to February 28, 2022.

▪️I draw your attention that as many as five paragraphs of 4th paragraph are devoted to the issues of careful selection of personnel, psychologists examination and ensuring their high motivation.

▪️For this reason, the National Guard servicemen are provided with “visual agitation, information and propaganda materials, flags, and printing products.”

▪️The deputy commander of the National Guard for Staffing (personnel) was ordered to organize “an effective system of moral and psychological support for the battalion tactical group of the 4th operational brigade, internal communications of commanders with subordinates, informing.”

▪️At the same time, it is important to provide “an explanation to the personnel of command decisions and the importance of upcoming tasks.”

▪️I draw special attention to the fact that the 12th paragraph of the order prohibits sending National Guard servicemen who showed “unsatisfactory” results of psychological testing according to the criterion of “risk appetite” to the area of joint command training and to the place of “combat special tasks”.

▪️All events of joint combat training of the nationalists are ordered to be completed by February 28 in order to further ensure the fulfillment of combat missions as part of the Ukrainian “Joint Forces Operation” in Donbass.

▪️The document contains the original signatures of the officials of the command of the National Guard of Ukraine responsible for the tasks.
We remember the statements by the leadership of the Kiev regime replicated by the Western media in February, that there were no plans for an armed seizure of Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics. About their desire to resolve all issues in “political and diplomatic way.”

▪️However, the originals of the secret military documents of the National Guard of Ukraine clearly prove the falsity of these statements.

▪️A special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces, conducted since February 24, thwarted a large-scale offensive operation of Ukrainian troops on the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics in March of this year.

▪️Thus, only one question remains unclear so far: how deeply the US leadership and its NATO allies were involved in the planning and preparation of the operation to storm the Donbass by the Ukrainian joint force grouping in early March. All those who care so much about peace in Ukraine today.

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry

▪️The grouping of troops of Lugansk People’s Republic, continuing offensive operations, took control of Toshkovka and Grachevo. The advance was 2 kilometers.

▪️Units of People’s Militia of Donetsk People’s Republic in the course of offensive operations advanced 4 kilometers and took control of Signalnoe, Taramchuk, Yelenov and Trudovoye. The depth of advance of units of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk Republic in Mariupol per day was more than one kilometer.

▪️The units of the Russian Armed Forces took control of Krasnaya Polyana and Stepnoe.

✈️ 💥 During the day, bomber and attack aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed 49 military facilities. Among them: 2 command posts, 6 radar stations, 4 ammunition and fuel depots and 37 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment.

▪️In total, 2,786 military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation.

💥 Destroyed: 953 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 101 multiple rocket launch systems, 351 field artillery and mortars, 718 units of special military vehicles, 93 unmanned aerial vehicles.

▪️I will focus on the results of the defeat of aviation and air defence systems of the armed forces of Ukraine.

By the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian armed forces had up to 250 serviceable combat aircraft and helicopters.

The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed 89 combat aircraft and 57 helicopters on the ground and in the air.

Part of the Ukrainian aircraft flew to Romania and does not participate in hostilities.

90 percent of the Ukrainian military airfields have been disabled. There are no trained Ukrainian pilots of the first and second class left. Today, only single attempts of sorties of the Ukrainian air force aircraft have been recorded.

▪️Now about the results of the defeat of Ukrainian air defence systems.
During the special operation, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 137 S-300, Buk M-1 and S-125 anti-aircraft missile systems. This is more than 90 percent of the long and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems in service.

81 Ukrainian air defence radar posts were destroyed. This led to the loss of combat control of aviation and air defence of Ukraine. At present, the air defence system is only focal and is incapable of providing significant countermeasures to Russian aircraft.

The leadership of the Ukrainian armed forces is trying to remedy the absence of information about the air situation by receiving data from the E-3A aircraft of the AWACS-NATO system at the air force command post in Vinnytsia.

These aircraft are on around the clock duty in Poland airspace.

▪️Unfortunately, several facts of the presence of conscripts in the units of the Russian Armed Forces participating in a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine have been revealed.

Almost all such servicemen have already been withdrawn to the Russian territory.

At the same time, one of the units performing combat service support tasks was attacked by a sabotage group of the nationalist battalion.
A number of servicemen, including conscripts, were captured.

Comprehensive measures are currently being taken to prevent conscripts from being sent to combat areas and to release captured servicemen.

Meeting of the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine

The Russian Federation, solely for humanitarian purposes, has taken another initiative to “official Kiev” to open ten humanitarian corridors today, and to evacuate civilians and foreign citizens from Kiev, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol – including one humanitarian corridor from each city to the Russian Federation, as well as one through the territories controlled by the Kiev authorities to Poland, Moldova and Romania.

At 2 o’clock in the morning, we received an official response from the Ukrainian side, in which the proposed routes for evacuation to the territory of the Russian Federation were categorically rejected.

Only three routes have been agreed: one on the Kiev direction to the south, as well as from Sumy to Poltava and from Mariupol to Zaporozhye, but three more are additionally proposed – from the city of Energodar to Zaporozhye, from Volnovakha to Pokrovsk, from the city of Izyum to the city of Lozovaya.

In addition, the Ukrainian side has put forward absurd and obviously impossible demands: on one route to carry out mandatory mine clearance, and mine-explosive devices installed by nationalists, and on the other – to restore the road bridge destroyed by the AFU during the retreat.

The absurdity of these demands is also that both routes pass through territories controlled by nationalist battalions.

This suggests that those in Kiev who coordinate humanitarian corridors with us do not fully know the situation on earth. At the same time, taking into account our responsibility for the humanitarian component and ensuring the safety of the exit of civilians and foreign citizens forcibly held by nationalists in the blocked settlements, we also agreed with the additional routes proposed by the Ukrainian side.

Now, as for the corridors “not-opened” by the Ukrainian side towards Russia.

To the assertion of the Ukrainian authorities that there are no people willing to travel through humanitarian corridors to the territory of the Russian Federation, we openly declare that this is a lie and an outright provocation.

Just over the past day, 48,543 more appeals from peaceful citizens of Ukraine and foreigners with requests for evacuation to Russia have been added to our database. Thus, there are already 2,589,910 people in the database who want to evacuate from 1,917 settlements in Ukraine.

Numerous appeals of embassies of foreign states to the Ukrainian authorities with requests to ensure the withdrawal of their citizens to the territory of the Russian Federation in Kiev are reported that the Russian side allegedly does not provide such corridors – this is also a blatant lie!

Today, at exactly 10 o’clock, in accordance with the agreements reached on ten humanitarian corridors initiated by the Russian Federation and three additionally at the request of the Ukrainian side, the Russian Armed Forces introduced cease-fire, which is strictly observed to date.

We are closely monitoring the actions of the Ukrainian side by means of objective control, both on the ground and from the air, including unmanned aerial vehicles, but no practical measures have been taken to prepare humanitarian columns at the moment, no one has arrived to open humanitarian corridors, the formation of organized humanitarian columns has also not been recorded. Civilians and foreign citizens were not notified in any of the settlements.

Since 10 a.m., on the contrary, intensive regrouping of AFU units and nationalist battalions, the movement of weapons and military equipment, as well as the buildup of forces and means has been noted in all directions.

In addition, since 9:57, continuous artillery and mortar fire, including on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the suburbs of Kiev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mariupol and in a number of other settlements, as well as on humanitarian corridors initiated by the Ukrainian side, has practically not stopped. On the Volnovakha, Zaporozhye and Izyum directions, intense fire was conducted from the nationalist battalions using mortars.

A similar situation occurred yesterday during the declared cease-fire and withdrawal of foreign citizens and a small number of civilians from Sumy. We have observed and recorded how grossly, cynically and harshly the Ukrainian side violates the ceasefire regime, actively moving weapons and military equipment, replenishing ammunition stocks and their delivery to positions, as well as the movement of reserves. But solely for humanitarian purposes, we did not disrupt this humanitarian operation, given that the humanitarian column has already been formed and started moving. We have continuously warned the Ukrainian side about preventing provocations by all possible means. With effort, but by maintaining all the necessary security measures, we were able to save the lives of civilians and foreign citizens.

Unfortunately, today, a detailed and well-thought-out operation to open humanitarian corridors and evacuate civilians and foreign citizens in conditions of a humanitarian catastrophe has not brought the expected results, due to the fault of the Kiev authorities.

At the same time, the humanitarian situation throughout Ukraine continues to deteriorate rapidly. In Mariupol, the conditions of citizens, as a result of the monstrous actions of the nationalists and the city administration, has reached catastrophic proportions.

In the same city, on Kuprina street, nationalists blew up a power line and several tanks with fuel, without evacuating nearby residential buildings.

In Sumy, the nationalists of territorial defence, who allegedly assumed obligations to ensure law and order, do not prevent a surge in looting, moreover, they have formed a criminal community.

The children’s hospital building is used by the Sumy territorial defence unit as a stronghold.

There are two territorial defence checkpoints on the Sumy-Grayvoron highway, the personnel of which are in civilian clothing, armed with small arms and Molotov cocktails with the task of preventing the exit of refugees.
In Kharkiv, nationalists, under threat of using weapons, force local residents to set up barricades of car tires at every intersection in order to prevent civilians from reaching humanitarian corridors.

Ordinary Ukrainians come to understand that they mean nothing to the current regime. Residents of cities and towns have lost their already dubious faith in the current government, which prefers not to notice human suffering.

Moreover, the Kiev regime has sanctioned nationalists to use weapons against those who attempt to evacuate to the Russian Federation, threatening to kill relatives remaining on Ukrainian territory. There are threats of physical violence from radicals against those who are trying to receive humanitarian aid.

The civilized world, the UN, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as other international organizations in the catastrophic situation that has developed for Ukraine have no moral right to stand aside, ordinary Ukrainians and foreign citizens should not “one on one” fight Nazism that has overwhelmed the Kiev authorities.

We appeal to reputable international organizations, to the International Committee of the Red Cross with a request to take urgent measures to encourage the Kiev authorities to carry out the entire complex of measures to prepare for the evacuation and the formation of humanitarian convoys. And the most important thing is that notification of the gathering places and the opening of humanitarian corridors should be carried out through all communication channels, as well as using a centralized information and notification system for the population. We very much hope for your effective monitoring mechanism, including on the ground, how the mayors of Ukrainian cities are in practice preparing for humanitarian operations, as the lies and deception of the Kiev authorities are becoming unbearable.

We have sent an official appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross on this issue. The militants of the nationalist battalions continue to use prohibited methods of warfare, namely, violence to life and physical integrity, murder, torture of civilians. At present, the radicals continue to hold more than four and a half million civilians hostage as “human shields,” as well as 1,197 foreigners who have already expressed a desire to evacuate to places of safety from the horrors and arbitrariness of the neo-Nazis.

At the same time, without the participation of the Ukrainian side, 5,460 people, including 1,125 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in various regions of Ukraine, as well as the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics during the day. In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, there have been more than 179 thousand people, including 45,436 children evacuated. 20,961 vehicles crossed the state border of the Russian Federation, including 867 vehicles per day.

Yesterday, as a result of the humanitarian operation carried out by the Russian Federation, 247 foreign citizens were evacuated from dangerous areas of the Kherson region to Novorossiysk, including 166 from Turkey, 41 from Ukraine, 11 from Egypt, 8 from Italy, 7 from Azerbaijan, 6 from Pakistan, 5 from India, one each from Sweden, Morocco and Brazil.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that all evacuated citizens, including foreigners, are fully provided with comfortable conditions for recreation, hot meals, and medical assistance has been provided to those in need.

More than 9.5 thousand temporary accommodation centers continue to function normally in the regions of the Russian Federation. Individual work is organized with each person arriving in Russia.

A sufficient number of vehicles for the transportation of refugees are kept in constant readiness at checkpoints and places of temporary accommodation.

Recreation facilities are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, hot meals are provided, mobile medical centers are deployed, logistics is organized for departure to the regions of Russia and to selected places of temporary stay, and for foreign citizens their delivery to their homeland is provided. Mobile medical centers have been deployed, and a supply of medicines has been created.

The Russian side is creating all the necessary conditions for a peaceful and safe life in the liberated territories, ensuring unhindered access of the population to humanitarian aid.

The accumulation of humanitarian aid continues at the collection points; over 16 thousand tons have already been accumulated.

1,367 tons of humanitarian cargo have already been delivered to the settlements of the Zaporozhye, Kiev, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions, as well as in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics during the 171 humanitarian actions, including 39 actions carried out over the past day, 441 tons of basic necessities, medicines and food were transferred to the civilian population of the liberated areas.

As of today, 33 humanitarian actions have been planned and are currently being carried out in the Kharkiv and Zaporozhye regions, in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, during which 95 tons of basic necessities, medicines and food are being transferred to the civilian population.

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry

▪️During the day, the grouping of troops of Lugansk People’s Republic took control of Zatishnoye, Peschanka, and Surovtsevka.

▪️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to strike at the military infrastructure of Ukraine.

▪️Since the beginning of the operation, 2,814 military assets of the Ukrainian military infrastructure have been destroyed.

💥 Among them: 139 S-300, Buk M-1 and S-125 anti-aircraft missile systems, 84 radar posts of Ukrainian air defence, 974 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 104 multiple missile launchers, 359 field artillery and mortars, 727 units of special military vehicles, as well as 97 unmanned aerial vehicles.

❗️On the night of March 9, Ukrainian nationalists delivered about 80 tons of ammonia to Zolochiv settlement, northwest of Kharkov. According to the residents who left Zolochiv, the nationalists teach them how to act correctly during a chemical attack.

All this testifies to the preparation by Ukrainian nationalists of a provocation using toxic substances to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons.

The fourteenth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.

The enemy significantly reduced the pace of troop advance, but did not refuse to conduct an offensive operation.

The russian occupier is losing manpower and equipment, demoralized personnel, surrender or desertion. The enemy continues to focus its efforts on encircling the city of Kyiv, capturing the cities of Sumy, Kharkiv, Mariupol, and Mykolayiv; providing a land corridor between the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the mainland of the russian federation. He does not stop trying to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The formation of the enemy’s reserves in the points of permanent deployment continues in order to further transfer them to certain areas in our country.

Due to the fierce resistance of the residents of Kherson, the occupiers are trying to impose an administrative-police regime, for which units of the rossian guard were deployed in the Kherson region, which illegally detained more than 400 citizens of Ukraine.

In the Volyn direction, the enemy does not carry out offensive actions, but there is a high probability of sabotage at military facilities and civilian infrastructure in Rivne and Lviv regions by sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the occupiers.

In the Polissya direction, the enemy is acting with the help of separate units of the 29th, 35th, and 36th all-military armies of the Pacific Fleet and the Airborne Forces of the russian federation.

After an unsuccessful offensive, a significant number of units of the occupiers’ strike group suffered casualties and were hastily withdrawn to recovery areas. Combat equipment is usually not evacuated by the enemy.

According to available information, the enemy is regrouping in preparation for another attempt to take Kyiv. After an unsuccessful offensive in the direction of settlement Fastiv, enemy is trying to resume offensive operations in this direction.

In the northern direction, the enemy, with the help of separate units of 2, 41 general armies and 90 tank divisions of the Central Military District, is trying to resume the offensive.

By forces to BTGr the enemy made crossing over the river Trubizh, blocked the highway E95 in the area of settlement Zalissya. The enemy suffered losses on the outskirts of Chernihiv and other areas. In order to restore the fighting capacity of the group, BTGr from 55 separate motorized infantry brigades of 41 all-military armies of the Central Military District from the operational reserve was transferred to the territory of Ukraine.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy forces separate units of the 1st Tank Army (up to 11 BTGr), the 20th All-Military Army (up to 8 BTGr), the 6th All-Military Army (up to 3 BTGr) of the Western Military District, the 14th Army Corps of the Northern Fleet (to 1 BTGr) tries to keep the line from city Severodonetsk to the city of Sumy. The main efforts are focused on trying to surround the city of Kharkiv and reach the barrier on the Dnieper River. Preparations for the attack on Sumy are underway. The enemy is concentrating army aircraft to ensure airborne action.

In the Donetsk direction, the occupiers of the 1st, 2nd Army Corps and separate units of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th General Army (up to 7 BTGr) are trying to continue offensive operations in previously selected areas to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In the Tavriya direction, the enemy, with the help of separate units of the 49th General Army, the 22nd Army Corps, the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th General Army and the Airborne Troops (up to 17 BTGr) holds the border from Kherson to Rozivka. Attempts to force the Southern Bug River were unsuccessful. Uses Kherson International Airport to base combat aircraft.

In the South-Buh operational area, the russian occupiers are holding the border from the city of Kherson to Kakhovka. Separate units of the 49th All-Military Army of the Southern Military District were stopped northeast of the city of Mykolayiv along the Ingul River.

Operational information on 06.00, 09.03.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

The fourteenth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion has begun.

The Defense Forces Group continues to conduct a defense operation within the defined operational zones.

In the northern and north-western directions, hostilities continue in the Polissya and Volyn operational districts, as well as along the state border of Ukraine and in the settlements of Nizhyn, Ivanytsia, Trostyanets, and the defense of the city of Chernihiv continues.

The grouping of forces and means of defense of the city of Kyiv repulses the enemy’s offensive, inflicts fire damage on its offensive group and firmly holds certain boundaries.

In the Southern direction, operational groups of the defense forces cover the state border of Ukraine and the sea coast, protect and defend airfields and critical infrastructure.

In other areas, groups of troops are conducting a stabilization operation and performing territorial defense tasks.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repels missile and bomb strikes and destroys the means of air attack of the occupiers, provides air cover for important infrastructure facilities of Ukraine and military groups.

According to available information, due to numerous casualties, the enemy continues to conduct covert mobilization under the guise of training camps in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Krai and some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions; intensified activities to recruit volunteers for the war in Ukraine.

In addition, there were cases of expulsion of young men of conscription age from higher educational institutions of the russian federation in order to replenish the reserve of the army of invaders.

The occupiers do not rule out the possibility of involving up to 800 servicemen of the unrecognized transnistrian-moldavian republic in the war with Ukraine, but the moral and psychological condition of these personnel remains low.

In Berdyansk, the enemy began to distribute propaganda materials aimed at discrediting the military and political leadership of our state.

In settlements of the Chernihiv region, which are temporarily occupied by Russian troops, the enemy, in violation of international humanitarian law, continues to hide weapons and military equipment among residential buildings and agricultural premises. Uses a network of medical facilities to provide medical care to wounded personnel. The occupiers are dismantling the cell towers.

In the Kherson area it is revealed that the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the russian federation disguised in civilian clothes, put forward in the direction of the city of Mykolayiv.

According to the available information, panic is spreading among the personnel of the occupying forces due to the huge losses in manpower and equipment.

Trust only proven sources, do not panic and continue the total resistance.

We believe in our Armed Forces!

Let’s win together! Glory to Ukraine!
