Forces russes

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov (March 4, 2022, 11:30 a.m.)

▪️ The grouping of troops of Lugansk People’s Republic, with fire support from the Russian Armed Forces, continued offensive operations and reached the line of Krasny Lyman, Yampol Privolye. The offensive continues in Kramatorsk direction.

The grouping of troops of Donetsk People’s Republic carried out successful offensive operations and advanced up to 8 kilometers.
Nazarovka, Kuibyshevo, Kalinino, Novogrigorovka settlements were taken under control.

The grouping of troops of DPR continued the encirclement around Mariupol and took control of the plant named after Lenin.

▪️ The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued the offensive, acting on adjacent flanks with the units of Donetsk People’s Republic, took control over Verkhnyaya Krinitsa, Komsomolskoye, Chistopolye, Novopoltavka, Kamysh Zarya, Truzhnevo.

▪️ On February 28, the Russian Armed Forces took control of Energodar city, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and adjacent territory. The military personnel of the Ukrainian National Guard who were guarding the power plant, even before the arrival of the Russian units, left the facility and disappeared in an unknown direction.

The station facilities and the adjacent territory were taken under guard by Russian military personnel.

Over the past five days, the personnel of Zaporizhzhya NPP continued the planned work on maintenance of facilities and control of the radioactive situation in usual mode.

However, last night, on the territory adjacent to the power plant, the Kiev nationalist regime attempted to implement a provocation.

On March 4, at about 2 a.m., while patrolling a protected area adjacent to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, a mobile patrol of Rosgvardiya was attacked by a Ukrainian sabotage group.

In order to provoke retaliatory fire at the building, heavy small arms fire was opened at the servicemen of the Rosgvardiya from the windows of several floors of the training complex located outside the power plant.
The firing points of the Ukrainian saboteurs in the building of the training complex were suppressed by the return fire of the Russian patrol from small arms. Leaving the building, a Ukrainian sabotage group set fire to the training building.

The fire brigades that arrived at the building put the fire out of the premises. At the time of the provocation, none of the full-time employees of the power plant was in the training building.

Currently, the staff of Zaporizhzhya NPP continues to work as usual, maintains the NPP facilities and monitors the radioactive situation. The radioactive background in the area of the nuclear power plant is normal.
Zelensky’s prompt statements about the alleged threat to the nuclear power plant and his talks with Washington and London leave no doubt. The purpose of the provocation of the Kiev regime at a nuclear facility is an attempt to accuse Russia of creating a source of radioactive contamination.

All this testifies to the criminal intent of the Kiev regime or the complete loss of control over the actions of Ukrainian Sabotage groups with the participation of foreign mercenaries by Zelensky.

▪️ The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to strike at the objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine. In total, 1,812 military facilities were hit during the operation.

💥 Among them: 65 command posts and communication centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 56 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, 59 radar stations.

Also, 49 aircraft on the ground and 13 aircraft in the air, 635 tanks and other armored vehicles, 67 MLRSs, 252 field artillery mounts and mortars, 442 units of special military vehicles, as well as 54 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed.

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov (March 4, 2022, 5:30 p.m.)

▪️ The grouping of troops of Lugansk People’s Republic, continuing offensive operation, captured Shandrigolovo, Aleksandrovka, Derilovo, Sredne, Lozovoe settlements.

The armed forces of Donetsk People’s Republic took control over Rozovka, Truzhenka, Znamenovka and Puzatoye settlements.

▪️ Russian Armed Forces units continue their offensive on a broad front.
Acting on adjacent flanks with units of the Donetsk Republic, Pyatikhatki, Shevchenkovo, Pologi, Gusarka, Novodanilovka and Shcherbaki settlements were taken under control.

▪️ The nationalist units that are retreating in Donbass, formed in the Lvov and Ivano-Franko regions, are causing damage to critically important social infrastructure and life support facilities for the population.

The greatest damage is done to water supply and energy systems. The purpose of such actions is to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Donbass.

▪️ Ukrainian nationalists are preparing a provocation with the participation of Western journalists in Kharkov.

According to confirmed data, on Zhilardi Street, Kievsky District, in the private sector, multiple launch rocket systems are placed between the houses. Nationalists forbid local residents, including children, to leave their homes.

Now mounts are ready for shelling the units of the Russian Armed Forces located outside the city.

The purpose of the provocation is to cause the return fire of Russian artillery on the residential sector of Kharkov. All this is planned to be filmed on cameras with the subsequent transfer to Western journalists.
Russian armed forces provide assistance to residents of settlements liberated from nationalists.

▪️ Today at 12.00, at the request of Kherson administration, Russian servicemen delivered more than 140 tons of food and medicine to the city. All humanitarian cargo has been handed over for distribution to the local population.

We will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian residents in need of support.

Operational information at 12.00 on 04.03.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

The ninth day of the Ukrainian people heroic confrontation with the Russian military invasion is going on.

The second echelons and most of the operational reserves of the Russian Armed Forces were put into operation.

In Slobozhanshchyna, units 20A of the enemy continue to carry out attempts to continue the offensive on the Joint Forces in the Novoaydar and Severodonetsk directions.

In the Donetsk operational direction the enemy is trying to keep the encirclement around the city of Mariupol with the help of six BTGs. To minimize the negative effect of the losses in the Donetsk region, Russian curators began to bring Russian Armed Forces servicemen to the Ilovaisk station.

The main goal of the enemy remains the encirclement of Kyiv and the weakening of resistance in the blocked settlements. In the course of this task, groups of the RF Armed Forces exhausted most of the operational reserves and began to transfer additional forces and resources from the Southern and Eastern military districts.

In the Black Sea the Black Sea Fleet was withdrawn from naval bases with the task of striking the surface forces of the Navy forces, but more often civilian ships and their crews become the victims of Russian pirates.

Having an intention to take over the Black Sea coast, the enemy continues to prepare for the landing of marines in the region Zatoka – Chornomorsk. 40 km east from Chornomorsk there are two large landing ships of the occupiers.

Up to 80 representatives of the Russian media and a large group of « demonstrators » were set up in the occupied cities of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to organize public gatherings of « local residents ».

They will probably be sent to Kherson in the near future to organize fake rallies with the participation of propaganda media, to support the change of Ukrainian government on the ground and to legalize the occupation.

the use of airborne troops to ensure the construction of bridges over water obstacles has increased;

the Russian occupiers pay considerable attention to intensifying measures of psychological influence on the population and troops;

There have been changes in the tactics of Russian criminals:

failing to fulfill the task of military « blitzkrieg », the Russian Federation is turning to openly terrorist methods of conducting hostilities on the territory of Ukraine;

special units are used as assault units in the city suburbs;

in the near future we should expect a comprehensive and large-scale spread of fake news by the enemy, which will be carried out with the involvement of the full range of modern media.

We urge Ukrainians to be vigilant and careful, to believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to use information from official and verified sources.
